ABOUT ABOUT

My dear friend and music compadre, Masa Takahashi is coming to town and we will be doing a short tour throughout NC and SC. I'm so very excited! Masa is one of the best musicians I know. We have been recording, performing and touring together for almost 20 years and have been through thick and thin.

This intimately explosive house concert show will be happening at the 'world famous' ULTRA DECK and is hosted by our wonderful friend and monster musician WEZO. Wezo and his wife have been kind and adventurous enough to host this show (our maiden voyage). This is also a pot luck so bring your famous side dish and/or desert... even better something from your garden (BYOB).  Although it will be a challenge, the show will wrap up promptly at 9pm.

* The front door opens at 6pm

* Covered dish begins shortly there after...

* Bring a side dish or better yet something from your garden, desert / BYOB

* Concert starts promptly at 7pm.

ALL ARE WELCOME - but seats are limited.. We have a 40 person cut off ... Getting an earlybird ticket here at Ticketleap will insure your admission in the event that the show sells out. (It will also help us immensely with concert planning)

If you would rather just take care of things when you get to the show, thats fine too.

We look forward to sharing this evening with you all!

Melissa and Masa met in the late 90's while both were living in Boston, MA. They began performing together immediately and maintained a rigorous touring schedule across the US. They have recorded 2 cd's and many singles in various projects over the years and have had the good fortune of working with legendary producers and songwriters such as 'Cowboy' Jack Clement (Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis) Larry Henley and Jim Isbell (Jerry Lee Lewis). Melissa and Masa continue writting and recording music together today.

More about Masa....

Masa Takahashi, a native of Osaka Japan, started taking classical piano lessons at the age of four. After ten years of playing strictly classical, he started listening to rock music and became serious about playing electric guitar. Takahashi soon became interested in other styles of music, such as funk, fusion, and jazz. He made the commitement to come to the United States and study jazz. In 1998 Masa received his degree in Jazz Composition and Arranging from The Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Since then, he's been performing in various projects while touring the United States and Europe. Takahashi has opened for Ray Charles, Earth Wind and Fire, Cindy Lauper, Gloria Gaynor, and many more. Masa Takahashi is an incredibly gifted multi-instrumentalist.

More about Melissa...

Melissa Reaves is known to audiences throughout the US and Europe for her avant-garde, fire driven’, deconstructionist approach to rock-n-roll. Reaves has amassed a word-of-mouth following most notably for her experimental guitar work but also for her propensity towards spontaneity and seamless improvisation during live performance. She deconstructs the blues, pushes jazz to the outer limits and burns through rock-n-roll like the love child of Jerry Lee Lewis and the MC5. Most recently Melissa's, "New Rock Song" was placed on the 55th GRAMMY Awards nomination ballot for Best Rock Performance. The real deal!
